I ventured out during a break between rain clouds to meet Gina and Pete at their beautiful mud-brick home an hour north of Melbourne. I knocked on the front door and was immediately greeted by their three red-haired boys - Nick, Tom and Matthew – whom I would discover are the best of buds as well as brothers.
It was inspirational talking to Pete about their lifestyle and when I heard he had planted close to a hundred trees on the property it only endeared their home to me more.
It's clear how much this family love the outdoors. It reminds me of my own childhood in England surrounded by trees and fresh air to breathe. It made me stop and think about where I would like Arch to grow up and the kind of home I want him to have...one with oodles of room to run around, kick a footy and play in the mud with his Dad.
